Try to keep the homework limited to 30 minutes a day (not counting the daily reading that students should be doing for 30 minutes a day). If your child is consistently unable to complete the work in that amount of time for a few days in a row, please give me a call. · Here are some homework options they should be working on during those 30 minutes and the amount of time that should be spent on each: Math Homework Sheet, Math Addition Flashcard practice, Online Math assignments on pearsonsuccessnet.com, or Extra Practice Math pages……..10-15 minutes Weekly Fluency Practice Sheet ……7 minutes (one timed minute with an adult, 5 read out loud practice by yourself minutes, and one more timed minute withan adult.) Spelling Practice……5 minutes (writing spelling words, sorting words, out loud spelling practice, etc.) See the take home list of words that goes home on Monday for that week’s words Completing any unfinished sheets from daily work …… 5 minutes (handwriting sheets, spelling in class assignments, grammar practice, etc.) |
